carpenter rapes teenager at gunpoint

The spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, on Tuesday. issuued a statement that investigation has commenced into an alleged rape of a 15-year old at gun point on Sunday at about 2 a.m
The statement purported that the suspect, a carpenter, Casmir Eze, from Umugoji Orba in Udenu Local Government Area, had scaled the fence, to gain access into the victim’s premises, and threatened to kill her if she resisted opening the door for the suspect.
She was ordered to switch off the light and the suspect raped her violently, but unfortunately for the suspect, the victim recognized him, despite the scarf he tied around his face. She alerted her relatives about the attack and the matter was reported to the police, and with the assistance of the victim, the suspect was apprehended.
The statement further revealed that the suspect confessed to comitting the crime “I did not know what came over me, although I have been targeting how to get the girl since and no way, hence I had to come through this way,’’ the suspect said.
